go to a Mountain Goats show

I will be going after all! My boss arranged it at the last minute! One of our tires blew the other day, and B has to work until 1:45, so we will be rushing to find replacements, then hightailing up to Durham for, potentially, the show of my thus far life.

I feel like dancing, I feel like screaming, I feel like jumping around in an overgleeful circle with my friend and first Mountain Goats-sharer, Crissat! I don’t know what to do with myself.

My boss has me scheduled to work Friday night.
Even though I asked him two weeks in advance (to which he responded, “Remind me later this week,”) and then one week in advance (but after he’d created the shift schedule). Now I am praying my coworker will switch nights with me, but I won’t know till tomorrow!

I am trying not to be too upset. I am trying to think, There will always be another chance. I won’treallydie of disappointed heart if I miss this one.
...Right?

Living in the UK, I didn’t think this was something that i’d be ticking off in the near future, but I was lucky enough to see them at the Union Chapel Christmas gathering, and it was excellent.

Just, WOW.

a great show at the bottom of the hill 2 years ago or so
I think I even have a whiskey glass from that show
that I walked out with accidentally
as I was still in the middle of a drink
when the show ended.

Yeehoo it was great.

And I’m gonna go again and again and again ad infinitum. It’s great stuff.

I’m going to see JD and PPH at Pitchfork Music Festival, it’ll be wonderful.

I’ve been waiting about five years for this moment.
Does John autograph stuff? As far as my research can tell me, I don’t think he does, never seen any evidence of it.

And I’d really like to get either my copy of Philyra, or Orange Raja/Blood Royal signed.

tMG are absolutely at the top of my must see list. I have knocked the list down so much in the last year, but The Goats linger…

Mountain Goats are a fantastic live band—I regret missing them on their most recent tour!
