experience night in the Sahara desert

During a recent trip through Morocco I was lucky enough to travel in a 4-wheel-drive vehicle, so there were very few places that I couldn’t access. Most nights were spent camping, several of which were spent in the Sahara. It was colder than I had expected (though for Pete’s sake it was January after all) and it was difficult to make a fire out of felled palm trees. Sand getting everywhere was slightly problematic, as were the excess of flies during the hours of light. Still, it was an amazing experience!

I have heard that between the incredible silence and the spectacular night sky that this is truly something unique to behold.
