create a home of love and light

Giving up on this right now, because I don’t have my own place exactly, I’m living with my boyfriend and his brother. More important is to keep the house clean, my things organised, and overall to make it feel like my home, which I will add as a new goal.

I’m having guests over tonight. In preparation for guests I usually rent a Rug Doctor for the carpet. Last night we bought a much smaller, easier to use carpet cleaner. I see frequent fresh upholstery and rugs in my future! Yay!

My house is full of happy gales of laughter and exploration! My daughter’s friend has brought her children to visit. There has not been this much energy in my house in many years. My husband is having more fun than I have seen in a long time, showing off how the piano works, playing flubber shoes and handing out snacks. Even though I have been there myself, I admire mama’s of little ones more that I can say!

In the late October 2006 and early November 2006 entries, she wrote the wonderful story of meeting her husband. Her attitude created her own beautiful life. I continue to create mine!

In November of 2006, I was cruising the internet, searching for knitting patterns to use in making Christmas presents. I happened upon a website scrumptiousliving.wordpress.com. It is a blog written by a vibrant woman who approached her struggles with gratitude and faith. No matter what she encountered, she was going to create a beautiful life. I have followed her blog off and on, and am blessed by her vitality. Thanks firefly, for your inspiration.

the last 36 hours with my son’s girlfriend. She came down to LA to visit, and we had a grand time hanging out, ranting about politics, and doing girl stuff. She’s a smart, funny, sweet young woman and I feel so lucky that my son has the good taste to date her.

She adds love and light to our larger family “home” and I’m grateful.
