I’m working on a languishing sweater right now, a little bit every day, with a goal to be done before the end of 2007. Like the little engine, I think I can…
How to make my husband a sweater
How I did it: After realizing this project was bigger than I thought, I found it most useful to set a goal of working on it every day. Even so, it required patience and fortitude I didn't know I had in me.
Lessons & tips: Choose your pattern carefully; the cardigan I made suits my husband, but now I know there are other styles of sweater he might find even more appropriate.
Just knit the darn thing: you can only (literally) knit one project at a time, so keep in mind that every project you start to take a break from your big project is *keeping you from finishing*. The sweater got too big to carry around, so I did have other projects, but sticking to one big knitting task when I was at home really paid off.

Charley, the sweater that I have been knitting for my husband for Christmas, is done… seamed up, ends woven in and snipped, done!
Now I have to wait until Christmas to give it to him and see how it fits.
