I stopped working out around the middle of June because I couldn’t get to the gym. It was too difficult to arrange transportation there, and it’s just too far from me to get there by bus or – God forbid – by walking. But yesterday I signed up with SparkPeople (thanks to Jaosehl for the tip) and I have my new workout regime from them and got started last night on a new exercise program I can do right at home. I think the results might be slower, given that there are no resistance machines involved, but consistency and simply just doing it is more important than fancy equipment, I think.
Ah, I’ve finally found the workout that will keep me motivated. It’s the kids’ Dance Dance Revolution game. A workout I actually WANT to do—and so far I’ve lost about 5 pounds. WOOT!
I’ve never really enjoyed exercise machines, but I do think it’s important to stay in shape. For me it definately takes some discipline.
So far I’m doing good with this one. I always get at least 3 good work outs a week. I’m slowly seeing results, and I’m liking it. I feel better and look better. On my upper body at least. I don’t have all the machines for my legs so I pretty much just ride a stationary bike and do squats here and there. Gotta work with what you have though.
