Little socks! Little socks! Why did I never think of this before? I’ll try again with little socks.

Why do my socks always come out so big! I swatched, dammit…I swatched.
I’m giving up on the socks for awhile. And when I come back, I’m going toe-up.

I just finished my fuzzy feet which are basically felted socks. And they fit beautifully!
But I still want to be able to knit, without felting, socks that fit so the goal goes on…

I finished my first sock tonight, just in time for the big temperature drop. It’s very warm…good thing I can fit both of my feet in it. At once.
It’s also very pointy. Very, very pointy. Is it the pattern or me? I think it’s the pattern. It’s always the pattern.

Got through the top cuff and leg, now it’s the heel turn…
Dun Dun DUUUUN!
It’s larger than I wanted (no, I did not check gauge…plbt!) and the yarn (Lion Brand Wool-Ease) is kind of crappy…not elastic or drapy at all. But it is machine washable! Oh well, it’ll be fine for a first sock. It’s all about learning the technique anyway.

I’ve been knitting on and off for about three years. I like knitting, I like purling, I hate finishing. The blocking, the seaming, the lining up of sides, the setting in of sleeves. I think it’s high time I tried socks, which (hopefully!) require little of this.
