and the other day too, i brought my food with me again. it was collard greens and mince that i cooked at work in microwave. it is so much better but it can be gruelsome. at least it was when i had guests these days, will see. i’m on the frugal side so it is much better to pack.
if i’m doing this for real, i really need to make weekly menu or at least 4 day menu and roll it over again and again. 1 month ago

i resorted to microwaving mince or turkey at work and it was delicious! brought only grains from home. mince was so delicious, and turkey was more like cooked than baked, but also delicious. and noone noticed / didn’t seam to care. had some escarol salad in fridge at work, bothered only once to make a salad.
discovered that in absence of lemon, i can use c-vit in my dressing with pumpkin oil and it works.
yesterday i packed only garlic tomato pasta for my SO since he went earlier than i thought so other things weren’t cooked. and was mad searching for clean pot for tomato sauce, the thing is that i made all pots black since i tend to start cook grains and forget about it. too bad steamer doesn’t work. ended up making tomato sauce in pan. it works even better! 6 months ago

it was a treat from me for our b-days. we now have genuine bento boxes!!! mine is very small so i don’t use it, but large one is perfect for my SO. i still use 2 tupperware boxes, and i purcased nice elastic band, only need to sew it. the band thing is very practical, so does the color of bento – black. i use kitchen towel cloth instead of real furoshiki so the finish doesn’t damage.
these days when i’m bussy at work, it is so handy to have my meals with me. 8 months ago

completed this goal
How I did it: It took me a while to finally get brave enough to assemble bento lunches- there are so many real /artists/ out there in the Bento-making hobby!!
My goal was to make Bento lunches for my otherhalf, so that he would have a happy lunch, and something to look forward to at work, mid-day.
I'm glad to say that this really worked out! I was at first bothered by the SMALL size of the bento boxes, because it always seemed like there wouldn't be enough lunch for him! I quickly discovered that was not true at all!
A good solid lunch ended up consisting of: A boiled egg, a tiny (3 inch) sandwhich, a few baby carrots, a few slices of fruit.... and he was always full, and often brought leftovers home, because I had packed more than he needed for a lunch!!
I was very surprised, but it worked out great. :) Read how I did it… 4 years ago

i stumbled upon it on unclutterer.com, there was link to just bento site and i was instantly mesmerized!
i quickly gathered the gear already in my house, reorganized tuppeware drawer and prepared my first bento for my sweetie.
no need to purchase anything beside an elastic band (i will sew myself) and maybe some additional tuppeware, but spend the whole weekend browsing bento&co – adorable!!! i particulary like flower kimono pattern. so sofisticated, so exquisit!
looking forward to sew my own furoshiki one day.
for me, it is like doorways to very different and so much better way of life! simple, yet sofisticated. i’m absolutly thrilled. 21 months ago
