Did you know that only about ten percent of blind people in America know how to read Braille? I’d like to know for myself how difficult it is to learn to read it. There may be a much better way to teach it. Especially with computers. Plus, who knows. Some day I may go blind. Might as well have a foundation! Sure helped starting to learn to be ambidextrous before I broke my hand! ¦D
My youngest daughter is blind. I want to be fluent so that I can help her learn.
i think its really important to be able to read and understand different people so braille is really interesting!
My name is Alexander Fakoó and I run the german website www.fakoo.de. This site is very successful with my method of learning.
Now I have an english version of my learn-page in the Internet, accessible via www.fakoo.info . There you can learn and practice the English Braille Alphabet visually. Even a Braille Writer Simulator is in english available.
Please help me to improve the site, because my english isn’t very good. Have fun and success wishes
Alex
I saw a movie about a deaf and blind girl who graduated using books in Braille. Ever since I saw that movie, I’ve wanted to learn Braille! And here I am now, about to learn what I’ve wanted for a long time.

I am a lover of language and communication. Learning to read braille would be a phenomenal skill to have.
well, i guess i already know a couple letters of the alphabet thanks to a book i took out from the vancouver public library.
unfortunately i’ve moved and am about to start my final year of school and what i learned will likely be forgotten.
I don’t expect to remember what i learned, but I will make one mini-goal for this goal.
mini goal #1:
take steps towards learning braille within the first month of being employed after graduation.

I have sight, but always thought learning braille would be an interesting and admirable experience. We rely so heavily on our eyes, it’s fascinating that a person can read without their sight!
