Dumb thing to do as a kid while sleeping out one night.
Speed limit sign – in tall weeds so we could hide in the weeds. Took the top bolt out first just as a car came over the hill so the headlights caught the sign swinging down. After the car passed, we took the bottom bolt off and hung the sign in our tree house. Wonder who in the group eventually wound up with it.

How I did it: Well, I was returning home on bike one night after finishing my student job, and rode along this deserted dark road (this sounds like the beginning of a scary story...). I passed a bunch of road construction material, shoved aside after the work had been done for some days. Amongst the stuff I spotted a battered old construction road sign, and it occured to me that my then-boyfriend would love to have it for his bedroo… Read how I did it…

How I did it: The stolen street sign was the result of an auto accident, where we ran into a cattle crossing sign on the edge of a cliff. Of course the story was so crazy, we stole the sign that we'd knocked over as proof of the tale. The found street sign was near a dumpster of my apartment complex, and I took it home. It said "Sunshine" on it, and being of the more nocturnal, heavy-shades type at the time, I hung it on the wall in my living room and j… Read how I did it…
Coqueangela is super happy I'm living in this moment in time.
How I did it: I saw a stop sign that had been knocked down because there were some workers repaving the sidewalk. It was dented. I said to myself that if the sign was there the next night, I would steal it. Sure as s*** it was there the next night, and I stole it with my boyfriend. I waited in the car and checked out for cops while he got out and stuck it in the front seat with him. We cleaned up the sign, fixed the dents … Read how I did it…

I had around 20 of them…
From old worn out ones that had bullet holes in them and repainted in fluorescent colors black light and alternate moods...
To the more modern signs that may have said “Stop” and “No stop for right turn”...
I hope the statute of limitations has passed…;)
Self Adhesive is a scanlator. almost.

I need an accomplice :D
HOMETOWN GLORY Scream loud. Louder.
I NEED TO DO THIS! AND SOON! I’m moving out of my neighborhood [which I’ve lived in for my whole life, 18 years now!! :(:(:(] in July, so I was thinking of maybe and finally stealing the yield sign that serves absolutely no purpose what so ever. Agreed?
M And life goes on
Ken knows, he said he would help but I can tell he’s not to into it. That’s fine, though, he promised and I’m going to hold him to it.
mia_g_ Is in awe..
I’ve been wanting to do this for ages!!!! Theres one near bondi called ‘Wonderland Ave’, I’m on a mission….Now i just need to find some courage.
Jaspar Efaw is a mess
I stole a road construction barrel….
Let’s just say that didn’t happen to go so well.
I had the thing for three weeks and one day someone left the door to my dorm open. The campus police walked by and saw it and wrote me up for possession of stolen property.
I’m going to say its a great idea to steal a sign if you live alone but if you are in college don’t do it. You’ll end up having to go to court and it causes so many problems if anyone finds out.
Always wanted to do this. Just need the nerves and a night with no cops lol

froman2686 asks,
“So I'd like to do this. I found the perfect one I want to get, it's a street name sign. How do I remove it from the pole? I got an allen key that fit these little screws, but I couldn't get it to turn. Am I on the right track, or is there a better way?”
