Its been over 6 years for me and I have the same problem with swimming… and chlorine. It gets stuck in my dreads, my dreads touch my eyes and my eyes burn for days after.
So only swimming in lakes and oceans.

part of which is my dreadlocks (therefore princess of dread!), which I started a week ago and are so far behaving themselves nicely…we have a little loving relationship thus far, lots of quiet stroking and coconut oil :) black girls and natural hair…the relationship is so important, I think…
