Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

ghettotwixSO FUCKING WORTH IT

I saw Guster in July at the Basilica Block Party. THEY BLEW MY MIND!! They were hilarious, they played an AMAZING setlist (they even played Center of Attention, one of my FAVORITE Guster songs that I was not in the LEAST expecting them to play!), the bongos were rockin’, the sweet skyline of Minneapolis was in the background, and for the very last song of the encore, they played Come Downstairs and Say Hello…absolutely no joke, it brought tears to my eyes. I want to see them again and again. GUSTER…I LOVE YOU. 8 years ago

It’s TOTALLY worth doing. 8 years ago

robo44Awesome

I’ve seen Guster twice and enjoyed both concerts. In 2004 at The Greek in Berkley, and March 2006 at The Filmore in SF. I’d see them again, if they make it west again. Favorite songs: Careful, Center Of Attention, Happier. 8 years ago

ghettotwixOh Guster...I love you so much.

The most terrible thing ever is that every spring my college has a ridiculously sweet concert, and last year (when I didn’t even go there yet, cause I’m a freshman), THEY HAD GUSTER!! I can’t even believe that I missed it by one year. Similarly my friends at the U missed Cake by one year, but seriously, if I had to choose between Guster and Cake, it would obviously be Guster. I love them so much I don’t even know what else to say…except that I really really want to see them live. 8 years ago

AimeeAnd it was free!

I live in a college town and every spring there is a free concert called “The Spring Thing”. 2 years ago Guster was headlining it. I’d heard some of their stuff and liked them, so I went. It was amazing! They were great live. And they seemed like such nice guys. After the show they signed autographs for everyone, so that was pretty sweet too. 8 years ago

jaacena few times over the years.

My little sister turned me on to this band back when they were just “Gus”. Awesome band. Everyone should find a way to see them live! 8 years ago

Randi Roux!!!I went like 5 years back

with the guy I was dating at the time. They came and played at a club that I don’t think even exists anymore. It was a pretty good concert, I was impressed. I was a little annoyed cuz the had a leak apparently and I kept getting dripped on, but Guster can’t really be blamed for that! :) 8 years ago
