Know what is the real, your fact, because only a fact can be changed. If you want to transform yourself, you must know your facticity. You cannot change a fiction. You are violent and you think you are nonviolent—then there is no possibility of any transformation. That non-violence is nowhere, so you cannot change. And the violence is there, but you are not aware of it, so how can you change it?

You cannot deceive anyone unless someone is ready to be deceived; that is another thing. By authenticity I mean: remember you facticity. Always sort it out from your interpretations. Throw away your interpretations and look at the fact of what you are. And do not be afraid, then you will never be able to change it. If it is there, accept that it is there; consider it.

Always do what you say you are going to do. It is the glue and fiber that binds successful relationships. – Jeffry A. Timmons

There is so much good in the worst of us, and so much bad in the best of us, that it behooves all of us not to talk about the rest of us. – Robert Louis Stevenson

Ideals are like stars; you will not succeed in touching them with your hands, but like the seafaring man on the desert of waters, you choose them as your guides, and following them, you reach your destiny. – Carl Schurz

This above all: to thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night of the day, thou canst not then be false to any man. – William Shakespeare

    I wonder? 8 months ago

The quality of a person’s relationship to others…

Is the foundation upon which he will achieve or fail to achieve whatever has been is inherent purpose of his existence.

I found this today on 43T when I was ticking off the “Be nicer to my partner” goal.

I wonder if it really is “the last test and proof”?

For one human being to love another—that is perhaps the most difficult of our tasks; the ultimate, the last test and proof, the work for which all other work is but preparation.”
    - Rainer Maria Rilke

If you had to make a choice? 8 months ago

The person who tries to live alone will not succeed as a human being. His heart withers if it does not answer another heart. His mind shrinks away if he hears only the echoes of his own thoughts and finds no other inspiration. (Pearl S. Buck)

Every thing that lives / Lives not alone nor for itself. (William Blake)

When all is said, the greatest action is to limit and isolate one’s self. (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe)

One’s better off alone, and yet there are so many things that are impossible to fathom on one’s own. In fact it’s a terrible business and the task is a hard one. (Claude Monet)

May the time alone be as superbly filled with awe as the time of breaking bread with those whose hearts understand ours.

I am sort of at this point. Still trying to figure it out, but perhaps that is just life. I am done over-analyzing my existence and trying to see who or what I am. We are always evolving, growing, changing. Is this goal attainable? Who knows. I’d like to be authentically HAPPY with myself, but to actually find myself? I guess the questions you need to ask yourself are what matters to you most in the world, and that will help you find you.

Shine, Shine and Shine more... 18 months ago

Be My Authentic Self…Is starting to show through. It’s difficult for me, mainly because for so long I did not like, enjoy, honor and respect myself. I would be uncomfortable around other people in social settings. Wondering if they are judging me, like my outfit, my hair, the conversation we were engaged in…so shallow, I know.

Being on my journey – I’m starting to make myself shine through and be comfortable with who I am.

On Sunday, I went back and worshiped at my old church. I have not been there in 4 months. I went and told myself to be happy and content with whom I am. I did!! I walked in, enjoyed the service, visited with some members and then left feeling great. I accomplished what I set out to do. Being me…the real me.

I’m also realizing that being the true me, I’m more relaxed and not filled with anxiety. Great feeling.
