I need help!

First of all, we were quoted by around 20 moving companies and it is very hard to determine which are reputable and honest. We did not know of this website so we went with the company with the best better business bureau rating. Our sales rep jenny was extremely polite, professional, and really made me feel at ease. We set up a pick up date for January 15th and I was estimated at 12,519 lbs. plus we had a lot of packing we paid for. The drivers showed up at 10:00 am. When they got to our house there was 4 men and they were very pleasant to speak with and got to working as soon as they arrived and introduced themselves. They took extreme care of our items and while 2 men packed the other 2 loaded. After all was said and done we were 1,047 lbs. under the estimated weight and they wound up packing 28 boxes less than planned so our C.O.D price went down considerably. We received our items on January 18th first thing in the morning and everything arrived in the same condition and they offloaded quickly and efficiently. Needless to say everything turned out wonderful and we WILL be recommending them to others.

Moving at the end of February! I’m only relocating from Dulles in NoVA, and I already work and row in DC, so it’s not THAT big of a deal, but I sure am excited!

Not going now :( 1 year ago

OK, it’s final now; we will not be moving to DC, as family issues keep us in the Midwest. However, as sad as this makes me, I have a job offer on the table which would let me telecommute, so at least I can leave Nashville and come back home. If it works out, I will look to relocate to DC in late ‘08 or early ‘09 and telecommute from there.

Well, I start 12/10/07, and I am looking for an apartment on-line. Can’t wait to get there!

Getting closer... 2 years ago

Some time back, I contacted my old boss in DC to let him know I would like to return. Nothing happened for a while. A couple of weeks back, I got a call about a possible vacancy in the department where I used to work, so I submitted my updated resume. I hadn’t heard back in a couple of weeks and was about to give up hope, but I got a call from them today. I have a phone interview on Friday! Best of all, the person who would be my new boss was a coworker and friend during my first stay in DC. Wish me luck!

Rather move to NYC.

I moved there when I was 22, and lived there for about 3 years. It’s an expensive city, but just do it, you’ll get by! I packed up my car and moved down there, crashed on a friend’s couch until I could find a place. It’s a great town. People from all over the world live there. You will meet the most extraordinary people. It’s just a great experience.

Southern girl moved to the big city! 3 years ago

I moved to DC about a year ago, and have great experiences, met fascinating people, and it keeps on coming! For anyone wanting to move here, just pack up your stuff and find a couch to sleep on while you pursue your dreams.

Oh, and bookmark craigslist.org because you will use it for everything!
