How I did it: My local health centre was just next to my secondary school. One day in a free lesson I went down and picked up a leaflet, filled out the form and sent it. It is so easy to do. I always look at it, if I needed an organ I should be willing to give one as well Read how I did it…

How I did it: It was a similar "How I did it" entry here on 43T (from loubylou) that reminded me - yet again - that this is something I've long intended to do.And this time I did it! It takes very little time to register online and that's all there is to it.I also made sure that signifcant people know of my decision. Maybe others will be inspired to do the same :) Read how I did it…
How I did it: If you live in the UK you can register online in less than ten minutes. It really is worth it! The website can answer any questions you might have, and you can choose what organs you would donate if anything were to happen to you - for example, I chose to donate everything except my corneas, partly because one of my eyes is scarred and they wouldn't be useful, but mostly because I find the idea of someone else using part of my eyebal… Read how I did it…

How I did it: I Googled! I Google everything! The website came up to register and it was so straight forward so I did it there and then. All you do it complete your details and tick what you want to donate. My card came through the post about a week later! It's a bit awful to think of dying and organ donation...but it's kind of necessary! I mean we are all going to die sometime..so I figured I might as well do something with my organs and save a life rat… Read how I did it…

How I did it: I signed up on my state's donor registry. In utah it is www.yesutah.org and indicated on my driver's license that this is my wish. I have also told my family. Because my family does not necessarily agree with my choice I have also told other loved ones who could hopefully convey my wishes if my family did not relay the information if something were to happen to me. I always want to give people happiness but never be satisfied but now I am thinking that if I can donate my organs this might give people some happiness which would make me feel god after my deah.

are to be cremated anyway…I wont need these when I’m gone. I hope that by doing this others will follow & do the same. Because I’m not sure how my family will react I plan on letting them know when we create a will. I also plan to have everything put in writing. I’m kinda being specific…but I want everything honored. This is the way to make sure it happens.
Naomi is making things happen.
I guess with the changing times, they have done away with the little pink dot on your drivers license that says you’re an organ donor. Its to be expected. I got the info to sign up for this at www.donateLIFEcalifornia.org I wanna do some more reading on this site before I do it…and of course make sure my family is fully aware of what I want to do & then Ill most definitely sign up!
youster Time is a non-renewable resource; once used up, you can't get it back.
just been on this site….
i’m 100% sure i want to do this!
i really want to be able to help people once i have died. it’s as if you are still doing your bit for the world even when you are gone… and somebody is going to appreciate it GREATLY!!
apparently i just need to speak to people close to me… not sure what my parents opinions are on this matter ~ we shall see!!
:):) xx xx x
I did this a year or two ago. They were giving out information about it in driver’s ed so I followed up and followed through :)
when i was having my driving licence, they asked me if i wanna be a donor, i accepted it and they asked me to go upstairs to register for it. wherever i go they sent me to another table to do smth. i spent almost 2 hours to arrange my things to be a donor but no one helped me. now on the tv commercials are shown that donors needed, but i couldnt do it even i wanted it so much. i accepted my country as a country of bureocracy, so im hoping to be a donor as soon as possible when i have some time to deal with it :((
Bananalee is.
I know some people feel funky about it; I did before as well, but once I was old enough to check yes or no on the organ donor question on my driver’s license, I checked yes without thinking.
A close family member has Lupus and needed a kidney this year. Luckily, we found a match within the family (even though they weren’t blood related) but it made me realize how much organs are needed and just how much one donated organ can save and how it can affect an entire family.
If you’re not convinced, try on those shoes- be that person in the hospital bed, be the mother or father of the child who needs an organ, be the daughter or son watching your parent suffer.
Do one last good deed as you leave the world and donate your organs and save a life; save a family.
