How to play live music
How I did it: About nine months after forming a punk-rock band with friends, and one month after finding the singer to complete it our rhythm guitarist told us all to meet him at his church with the idea of them letting us practice at 4pm with their larger-than-our PA system. When we arrive at 4, he asks if we're ready for the show at 7. I almost dropped from sudden shock and nervousness.
Played a 30 minute set of 4 of our own songs and a cover of "Holiday" by Green Day. It was amazing, but needless to say, he is never allowed to coordinate anything ever again.
We're now signed up for a local Battle Of The Bands and looking for more shows.
Lessons & tips: Don't trust your rhythm guitarist. Ever.
Resources: Peavey, Jackson, and a healthy dose of bad organization.

I was soooo nervous the first time I played…but now I have a buzz for it and want to carry on doing it whenever I can! I was a bit nervous cos I was writing songs I’d written, but they all went down well! :)
I’ve just started playing live music- doing a bit of singing, guitar, piano…it’s fun!
I’ve been doing this for …... let’s just say a LONG time. It’s worth the struggle.
