read a Thomas Pynchon novel

I once had a girlfriend who was convinced she met Pynchon in Italy, or maybe he was just a weird dude who tried to get her drunk and take advantage of her. Regardless, he’s a criminal simply because of his dense writing and meandering plots. Same girlfriend made me feel guilty all the time for not being able to finish “V” (which she said stood for venereal). Gravity’s Rainbow is also half-finished on my shelf gathering dust. Sigh.
