1 year ago an initiative to work as a whanau worker was implemented in our area. I was fortunate to be selected as the person to carry out this role. Although very pleased with the appointment, I was also very aware of my short comings when it came to speaking the reo of our people, I need to do something about this. If this course is able to help me, then in 1 years time I will look back on this night and write a very different, 1 year ago.

Learning another language is not easy and like everything that gives us incredible self achievement it takes much effort, but absolutely worth it.
I would like to learn German or Gaelic but i will procrastinate over that. I want to feel confident, even if it is just being in the company of those cultures. I would know more than i know now!!
