make Christians understand that not everyone is Christian

I went to visit a local church, got buttonholed to give them my contact info, and really bluntly told them that this would offend many people who visited. (I gave them the info regardless.)

I should probably be less blunt, but I wanted to beat them over the head. ARRRRGH! Don’t you understand anything about marketing to people 35 and younger? (And yeah, I hate the word marketing in a spiritual context but Your Church Marketing Sucks has helped me get over that.) Don’t you know that anyone who isn’t already predisposed favorably toward your church is going to give you a fake phone number and disappear through the exits at the first opportunity?

As it happened I was too depressed (for other reasons) to sit through the whole sermon so my name’s probably Mudd there anyway. But having been going to somewhat pomo, emergent churches lately, it really astonished me to see how DUMB major parts of the mainstream church can be.

But yeah, i need to be less blunt.

I am a jew and personally, im not religious at all but it makes me very mad that christians are so oblivious to the fact that not everybody is christian. i have a friend that is so obsessed with christmas. its been all she talked about since before thanksgiving. and christmas is one freaking day. not 2 months. people keeps their lights on forever. dont get me wrong, they are pretty. and radio stations…and all their christmas songs from november to january. i hate it. once my friend told me that it would be to my benefit to become christian and worship jesus. and i told her to stop but she won’t. the world isnt going to change. christians are a majority and this is going to happen every christmas from now until the world ends. ihave nothing against christians but they need to just be satisfied with who they are and not try to change others. what you can do is to confront them. but dont say the wrong things becasue they take it seriously…i dont know..but i feel very strongly about this topic..
