camp for a weekend alone

its hard to say if this is worth it or not. I spent a “solo” out bymyself for 3 days, 2 nights and its mind boggleing. i slept in a snow cave atop 24 feet of snow. because this was part of some program i was in i wasnt allowed to bring a book or anything. i was just supposed to connect withmyself and have no human contact.

anyhow, i spent my time making my snowcave perfect (not much to do) and worrying it would collapse on me in the middle of the night. i tramped through the snow over and over until i had a path to my “bathroom”, and i also made a giant circle to walk just to be a smart ass.

other than that the whole thing was a blurr. i was really cold and just tried to survive the dead time. it probaly would have been much more enjoyable in the summer. 6 years ago

There is more time to think when you are out in the woods alone. A great time to do some serious reading, however there was no one to snuggle with when the temperature dropped 40 degrees in the middle of the night. 6 years ago
