Nature’s temple.
They are so tall that every time I see them I am amazed. They reach hundreds of feet into the sky.
They are fragrant.
The ground below is cushiony.
They are surrounded by ferns. And they are fire resistent, so survive intense forest fires and then carry the scars.

I’v always wanted to see these huge trees. I can’t imagine how magnificant they are. It’s kindof a trip I’d like to take alone, but I can’t imagine seeing something so beautiful witout my hubby there. He says “why would I want to look at a bunch of trees?” I say.. just wait!

In March, I saw the giant sequoias for the first time. After saying good-bye to my oldest son and putting him on the bus to Iraq. March was a great time to drive up there – so long as the roads are clear. Very few people there, just me and the trees and the wind.
