I bought a font for the computer that lets you easily create Celtic knotwork designs. I know its not the real hand drawn style ones that I was originally thinking about but as of now its as close as I think I am going to get.

when I was in college. I did it as a part of my Senior Exhibition. Only thing is, that it wasn’t called Celtic knotwork back then. This is because the Celts didn’t really use it that much. They used primarily a modification of the Greek Pelta design. The knotwork was disitnctly Teutonic in origin. It was used by the early Anglo-Saxons, used alot more by the Norse. That’s why there is the quote from the “Battle of Brunnenburg” that says “We gy-kennode tha thira waeron Wiccingas, swa thira haddon drachen-licce kunst on thyra hamas.” Which means “We knew that they were Vikings, because they had dragon (serpent)-like art on their homes.” I found most of my examples in a book called “Anglo-Saxon Art to 900 A.D.” It was really alot of fun.
another interesting side note: When I did this, alot of people were intrigued, because nobody at all was doing this. No one. It was no where to be found. Three years later the Celtic crowd in the Twin Cities (the Rennies and such like) were all doing it, and there was even books about “how to.” It just wasnt called Germanic anymore, but Celtic.
