sell my car

it was sad to watch my first car drive away, but the money more than made up for it. now i don’t have only $35 in my bank account!

A young kid bought my car!! Yeahh… The money will be a huge credit card payment!! I’m very excited to get that american express bill tamed down. I can’t wait until its paid off.

finally sold my car and got a new one!

Bug, my subaru, is now called “Tinkerbell”- as it was purchased by a family with two young girls.

It was hard to part with this car… it was my first car, and a great car, but it was having too many issues for me to take care of. I bought a new car a couple weeks ago, so I had to say goodbye to my beloved “Bug”.

A friend was interested in buying it, but he changed his mind. I put an add up on Craigslist last night and within 12 hours had 10 responses. The first guy who responded ended up buying it. I am thankful that it went to a family… I was afraid it would be scrapped or resold as a lemon! (it was having some pretty bad engine issues)

I only got $800 for it… but I’m thankful for the money. I pray that good ol’ Tinkerbell will be as reliable a car as Bug was for me! (once it gets fixed up)

Ok, Today we got an offer on my car. We gave them our offer in writing so they can take it to the bank!!! Yeah!! It might be a done deal.

My husband and I have decided to get rid of my car. It’s a 2 door and now that we have Mason and another on the way, the 2 door is a pain. We have a nissan pathfinder. Since my husband works from home we really do not need a 2nd car. It does come in handy; however, we are waiting to save for a newer car with more room in about a year.

What is it with the U.S. not producing battery, electric cars?? We do have the technology!! For example, Tesla Motors!! (right now they are so expensive) And I have also researched others. This just makes me so mad.
Whoever is pushing the more drilling in the U.S. is crazy.. That is just putting a bandaid on the problem. We need a president who will step up to the plate and put goverment mandates on these automobile companies. Ok.. don’t get me going on healthcare :) We need a strong leader who is not going to get bullied. And sorry OBAMA fans he is definitely not it. he uses the bush phrase “If I had a magic wand” regading the oil crisis. Hes a friggin joke.

so i gave it back to the insurance company, kissed bebe honda goodbye and walked away with my loan paid off and a happy check :)

Sarah ended up buying it since her car died.
She got a great deal, $1,200 below my original asking price which was $500 below the blue book price. I tried to just give her the car but she wouldn’t have it.

probably the biggest financial mistake i’ve made… the interest is high and i have a new truck which i am happy to drive. it’s definitely not as fast but it’s definitely going to be more enviro friendly and cheaper in the long run!

find out about insurance from hail damage
figure out if it will be totaled out
pay deductible $1k (ouch!)

i did post it on CL in the case i could avoid all of the insurance nonsense!
sell once repaired!
