My grandmother grew up speaking French, and when she moved recently I was given pretty much all the books that had been in her house (except for a few that she took with her). I’m sure there are at least a few French novels (middle grade, but I’m out of practice so that’s the best I’ll be able to do), now it’s a matter of finding one. When I’ll get to reading it is uncertain, but hopefully I’ll stumble across Bach et Bottine again. 16 months ago

Downloaded the French translation of Jane Eyre from Project Gutenberg. If the language is going to be hard work, I certainly don’t want the novel itself to be problematic. 17 months ago

while I’m studying I don’t have much time to read, let alone in french, but I’d like to find a book I like and find a French translation to read over summer. it’d be poetic to read Camus or Proust or something, but if I read a book I’ve read before, only in French, it’ll mean I get a better understand of the language. I’ve yet to choose one, although Harry Potter III or VI wouldn’t be bad! 2 years ago
