atrocious toys

OK, so I really love the ghastly toy thing. I think kids would like that too. Ghastly moving toys that they can reconfigure and that can make any sound that they choose. Recordable, robotic toy skeletons to go in build-a-bear suits. Or we just encourage them to do surgery on existing toys.
would kids like that?

I’m designing some dollhouse items for one of the projects I’m working on. I found a cute little lamp design so I’m trying to come up with something similar with really easily available recycled materials. I think the key is shape and scale. Tomorrow I’m going to furniture stores to see the shapes.

Just as I suspected, boys get the cooler toys.

part of my prep for this company will be to do some major study and research on little girls play. I’m sure there are tons of studies. I also need to find out who else makes toys for girls.

I love this show. I really like the spiral on Pinkies dress.

i love to customize my toys. ya know, make them better than the manufacturer did by adding new paint jobs, of sewing new clothing, of sculpting new bits for them. but now i want to actually make them or at least design them. especially since the world of designer toys and “urban vinyls” from japan and hong kong have become so trendy now. it seems like a good time to start.
