Not drive a car for a month (4 weeks)

Well I haven’t driven a car for over 6 weeks, but I’ve been in a car, but its more like car pooling because there is usually 3 of us in it. But its nice just walking. I’ve walked to the grocery store about 20 blocks away, and it didn’t seem so bad. And have just walked through Downtown Portland, and around the neighborhood I live in. It makes me feel a little connected, maybe not to the people or anything, but to the city. Exploring it. I’m sure the advantage is also its not 103 degrees with 75% humidity like it is at home.

I actually went at least 8 months without driving a car while I was living in Seattle. The great thing about cities is that you can get around without driving.

I live in kansas where you have to drive everywhere. And we have no decent mass transit system in my city. So I know i’m lazy and will never do this in the city i live in now. However I’m hoping to do this when i move to Portland for 6 weeks. First off I won’t have a car. And i’ll be like 6 blocks from a train and a block from the bus. So hopefully I’ll complete it in June-ish
