One of many of the cemeteries I have photographed.
It was a very interesting exercise. One of my favorite images from the shoot was one where the woman I was with put her face in a section of stained glass that had fallen out in a crypt. I was able to photograph her from the other side of the crypt.

I love going to cemeteries to take pictures. In Atlanta, there are several large ones, the largest being West View. I’ve been there many times and still haven’t seen it all.
I took some wonderful pictures in a cemetery (day time) in the center of the city. I even took some pictures in a 1890 crypt…yeah…that still gives me chills….I think his grave was robbed, because the bones were all over the place and the top of the casket was tampered with. I could see the skull…creepy stuff. I can’t get that image out of my head. I can’t even look at those pictures…
cherry311 I made out with the GodFather last night ;)
most of my assignments in high school photo class were done in a cemetary…and they were loved by my teacher..dear mrs. fisher…i miss her…must start taking pics again! and i will return to my fave cemetary.
I spent quite a bit of time this week in some local cemeteries taking photos. I found it calming and strangely relaxing. And fascinating, reading the headstones. Cemeteries for the most part are beautifully landscaped, and incredibly poignant. It’s nearly impossible to take a bad photo in a cemetery. Of course, I believe you should approach cemetries with respect. They are not playgrounds, they are the resting places of loved ones. That said, I find older, out of the way, and very small cemeteries to be the most interesting.
