I don’t know why but I have always wanted to do this, to open a cool bar that people can hang out.
I’d name the place Uncle Drinky’s…Who wouldn’t want to show up for a few beers at Uncle Drinky’s? All the bars in this area are either chain restaurants or places that might as well have straw on the floor and chicken wire on the stage…There isn’t anything in-between. I must admit that this is totally a pipe dream as I couldn’t wed myself to a bar 24/7 (which is what you need to do to have a chance at success) but if you have a great idea for a bar and the $$$ and time to go for it, feel free to use the name…
Bars around here suck! Bartenders aren’t nice, and no real interesting drinks since none of them went to bartending school. Music sucks.
I am in the mid-phase of buying a bar/restaurant. We are negotiating over price/repairs, but with everything going on with the looming recession the question that begs to be answered is: is now the time to take this step?
I have a great idea and concpet for a bar in nyc. One that will strive on free press and free advertising on the expense side and will appeal to a cross roads of tourists, locals and wall street types on the revenue side.
SeiareX Who knew opening a bar would be easy? Haha
So I have a business partner, Mr. Eric Bennett, coolest guy on the planet, and a good head on his shoulders. Not only does he have some great ideas, but he’s a smart guy, and he’s a lot like me, which is a great thing LoL. This weekend, I plan on traveling around the metro area, north, south, east, and west, and scout some possible locations. With any luck, I’ll have some good research to go over with him next Wednesday. The name is, well, not coming to us. Some great ideas are out the window after our good friend Google let us know how unoriginal we were in these early stages. However, I feel these early stages may blossom into some really beautiful things in the very near future.

rockstarFLA, check your comments. I am interested in speaking with someone who has a lot of experience in this field. Thanks.
I stumbled acorss this entry that I wrote up about a year ago. I’ve revisited the idea of opening a bar and am now going for it. I googled “opening a bar in BC” and this listing on 43 things was the top search ranking. I’ve started a blog at http://amotleyroom.blogspot.com to track my progress, keep me motivated and hopefully have some people come along for the ride on this journey. Peace.
