including her philosophy professor… who she is so anxious for me to meet… I think since she can’t “have him” she has been thinking since he and I seem compatible, she should make sure we meet.
Loving friends, eh?
Anyway…...I don’t think this exactly counts.

I was in Starbucks, working on my lines for… Eleemosynary.
I was picking up my things, preparing to go, when I noticed the man behind me had a copy of Don Miguel Ruiz’ “The Four Agreements” on his table.
I almost waffled and then said, “No talk to him. You aren’t asking him to chat over coffee, but you can’t see someone reading The Four Agreements and not strike up a conversation!”
So we had a great chat about The Four Agreements (he was working on “Be Impeccable with Your Word” especially) and before you knew it we were off and running about the Bible, Teresa of Avila (who else?) and Prayer.
I put in a plug for Oneness while I was at it before we looped back into the Four Agreements.
It was a GREAT conversation.
And yet, I didn’t chat over coffee, there was no invitation, it was me standing there with us talking animatedly about deep stuff. A stranger who I will more than likely never see again, we didn’t even exchange our names….
which in an odd way, makes it even cooler and more random.

but no invitation was issued or anything.
We talked about Rumi, Teresa of Avila, poetry, soul… a great guy. A bit odd, which is cool with me….
He googled me while I sat there which made me vaguely uncomfortable. And there is really nothing wrong with vague uncomfortableness.

are you going to join us at Starbucks?
But I don’t think this counts. And because I forgot my wallet, she bought ME coffee!! LOL. (Time for me to double pay it forward now!)

well, with strangers…(for those of you who know how bad I am at not being friendly with my crush.)
I love this idea.
I adore meeting new people.
And you just never know the interesting… or downright weird… or interesting AND downright weird conversations that could be had over a spur-of-the-moment cup of coffee.

I kind of did this the other night. Some friends and I were out eating dinner and started chatting with a guy a few tables over. I asked if he wanted to join us after dinner for some coffee. He did and it was a lot of fun hanging out for the rest of the night. With 3 other people there though, it was hard to have a serious conversation, so I am going to try doing this again solo.

This might just be my number one thing to do, but it is so scary. But, How cool would it be if that person said yes and it ended up being this really great conversation. Even if it was just that one time. That would be so cool.
