How to dye my hair blue"I didn't realize I would also be dyeing my bathroom blue"
How I did it: I'd heard a lot of horror stories about bleaching black hair, so I went to a hipster salon and had them do the bleaching and first dyeing. It took almost four hours for the foils and bleaching process, so I'm pretty sure I got my $100 worth. I chose a really dark color (Special Effects Blue Velvet) for a more subtle effect. |

How I did it: Booked myself an appointment at a hairdressers well renowned for colouring, then sat in the hairdressers chair and explained that I wanted a blue streak down the right side of my hair to looks of disbelief. Then came the task of bleaching my hair (twice - v.itchy) then applying toner to get rid of the yellow. Only then was the light blue colour applyed which turned out green so the hairdresser put a darker blue on top and it came out perfe… Read how I did it…
How I did it: My hair was already bleached, so after wards, I used some Beyond The Zone hair color and got blue hair! It was much brighter in the sun and people loved it. I think I'll be doing it again too. That picture does the color no justice and it's hideous, but it's the only one I've got. Read how I did it…
mercules is still trippin.
How I did it: i dyed the underside of my hair and also tipped it all the way around. i did it myself.first i bleached said parts. this looked kinda strange (i have dark hair.) then i washed that out, let it dry, etc. then i put about half a bottle of midnight blue beyond the zone color jamz hair dye on it. this dye is great, it does not smell. use gloves! i did not use heat. i washed it out in half an hour, and it looked great. i started my tips … Read how I did it…
How I did it: Well I have 3 colours in my hair. Firstly we dyed the underlayers of my hair black (as shown).Next, we bleached my hair blonde, it went yellow at first so I had to put another bleach on after (wow this burnt. do not do it unless your willing to potentially ruin and lose your hair).after bleaching my hair to a white blonde kind of tint we separated an area which would remain blonde, and dyed the remainder blue.after leaving each of these d… Read how I did it…
How I did it: My hair is naturally platinum blonde, dyed it every colour possible and then, black. So to enable me to dye my hair blue again I had to bleach it. I went from a fire orange to a nice brown. Because my hair wasn't as strong as it should have been my friend (who's a qualified hairdresser, specialising in colour) bleached the bottom half of my hair and then dyed it blue using a brand of hair dye called Scruples. It lasted about 6 weeks and t… Read how I did it…

Anime_Punker pretty frick'n good
After I dye my hair pink, I want to go for blue:) Just like Coraline!!
So I only got my bangs blue, but what I did was basically bleached out my dyed black bangs for 2 hours at night, bleached it again for an hour in the morning, and then again for a half hour until it was bleach blonde. Then I deep conditioned it for a few hours, let it sit overnight, and the next day I put in blue Raw dye for an hour and it was perfect.
However, I have ONE warning for everyone about Raw dye: It stayed really well in my hair and lasted, but it’s metallic, and so the blue dye will be extremely hard to get out. I still have traces of blue in the tips of my bangs that I have to redye all the time, so if you can find a non-metallic blue dye, I suggest using that one.
xXmusetteXx is getting a job XD
I dyed the last about 3 inches of my hair blue last summer, and this year i hav a real urge to go the whole hog and get it all done, sooooooo…. i think im gonna hav to put this on my list again XD

I really loved my blue hair, even though it was a rather difficult project and the colour didn’t last very long. The turquoise was very nice too, I also didn’t mind at all that my hair always faded back to my good old green. But it’s time to move on. I’ve been really indecisive about my hair lately, not being sure whether I should continue with the shock colours or do my hair a favor and go back to normal colours. Shock colours are so much fun, they always make me joyful, but on the other hand… My hair is in bad condition once again, because of the shock colours and especially the bleaching. I’ve also had blue/turquoise/green hair for over six months straight now. I’ve enjoyed it tremendously, but it’s time for change.
I’m sure I’ll miss the colour(s) again, but oh well, that always happens. We’ll see if I give them a third round, someday. Maybe, maybe not.
Having blue hair was fun times XD I’ll admit, the dye got on my clothes and such, and dye would get everywhere when I showered, but having blue hair was soooo worth it owo Having your friend return a sweater to you, not because they knew it was yours, but because it had blue hairs all over it, was one of the best parts XD

Finally I can say with full confidence that my hair is blue! Wohoo! (Well, my roots are now green, but that’s not bad.)
Mission accomplished.
I love this colour! So pretty. I hope tomorrow won’t be a really grey day, I’d like to take photos in better light.

I just went and bought two more blue hair dyes! :D Just couldn’t help myself, I want to have one more try at it. I’ll also be bleaching my hair, especially my roots, so it should look nice.
I didn’t get the exact dye I wanted, but I’m hoping the mix of these new colours will look good (“Fancy Blue” & “Turquoise Bleu”). I suppose my hair will still look greenish, but oh well.
I think I’ll be dyeing my hair some time next week, maybe Friday. :)
