dreams of Portland are sustaining me…

DO THIS. My family owns a ranch outside of Junction City/Eugene. It is my favorite place in the world and if work permitted it I would live there year round. You really wonder why everyone there is a tree hugger and so obsessed with nature until you get there and can’t do anything but be in it. Suddenly its so natural and it’s beauty is just overwhelming and so peaceful. The Pacific is so close, with a desert just as near in the opposite direction… you especially have to see the mountains. Our ranch has a great view of the cascades and it just never gets old. I reccomend doing this immediately. It will change your life. Warning: is addictive, you might stay forever and completely love it.

I was wondering if anyone knew about the type of restaurants in Eugene Oregon, and if you do what kind of money can be expected from working in one? Right now I live in Memphis and work at a casual dinning restaurant with moderately priced menu items and a nice wine list. I am planning on being a server/bartender and was just curious as to the money situation.

I will live in Oregon! 2 years ago

I have waited this long, and am still determined to do it. I’m going to move to oregon by the beginning of next semester with my boyfriend and best friend. This should be a the top of my list of things to accomplish because I am definately going to do it.

Mud, mud, mud and, oh yeah, rain and utter, life destroying gloom...... 2 years ago

Oregon also destroys the ability to use proper punctuation.

I think it’s something about water-logged brains because it does nothing, absolutely nothing, but rain and rain and rain and then rain some more. You can’t go out, you can’t stand to stay inside.

It’s cold, it’s gloomy, it’s gray, it’s dark at 4pm and it’s incredibly muddy. Look at the weather forecast at weather.com.

Environments affect people and the people in Oregon are horrible. They’re unfriendly, uneducated, unconcerned and, most of the time, incredibly depressed and angry.

    Hello, Eugene!

Ever since my dad told me about his living experience in Oregon, about four years ago, I’ve wanted to live there. It sounds so beautiful there, and exciting.

I’m a California native, but I always think fondly of living in Oregon. It was such a different lifestyle. I lived in Clackamas Oregon. Clackamas High School was awesome.

I’m thinking of moving in March, and renting a house with some friends. I’ve never been to Portland, but I have lots of friends who live there, and I need a change of pace from LA. I’m pretty excited about the idea, but nervous and apprehensive too.
