find the good in all situations.

Yesterday I googled the address of James Dean’s star, which is 1719 Vine St. Armed with Windex and a cleaning cloth I drove over to Hwood on a mission. Once I got there I walked up and down Vine Street in the address searching for the star. What I found was a group of stars that had been removed and replaced with wooden stars. Apparently the stars were removed for construction and will be replaced sometime this year.

Instead I drove to Venice Beach. I had been to Abbott Kinney Street for a photo shoot for Hallie for Vert Badeut, but never down to the beach. I saw a variety of odd people that Venice Beach is famous for. One man, I assume homeless, was wrapped up sitting in a reclining type chair, in the middle of the sidewalk, sound asleep with an angelic smile on his face. His smile was captivating. I envied the inner peace I assumed he was feeling, asleep with the warm sun in his face, not a worry in the world. Again I said assumed. Everyone has problems.

I had a terrible nightmare last night! First of all, I have issues with body hair…it freaks me out. In my dream I was very pregnant. When I pulled up my shirt to rub my belly, it was hairy like a gorilla!! I was scared to death. I did not want anyone to see my hairy belly. I was so freaking glad when I woke up and it was just a stupid dream!! I think my Mayo Toe..kept me from sleeping well.

It was a terrible nightmare, but it has kept me amused most of the day. Doesn’t take much.

I am overextended. Overworked. Overwhelmed. I can’t concentrate on my graduate work. I am having a difficult time juggling my schedule with work and school and Jonathan’s production schedule for Miracle on 34th Street. I am seriously thinking about taking failing grades for this semester. I can’t concentrate and I have two research papers to write. Is there ANY good in this situation?

I have NEVER watched soccer in my life until yesterday. I watched the US/Italy game..match or whatever they call it. The good in this situation is that the players are HOT…OMG….The CZEC team had some hotties on there too…they lost to Ghana, but they are still hotter which has to count for something…well it does in my book!!

The U.S. soccer team fought its way to a 1-1 tie against Italy on Saturday in its second World Cup game. The game was critical for the United States, which took a devastating loss in its opening match last week. Even though the Americans didn’t win against Italy, the draw is enough to keep the U.S. team in the tournament.

I went on a diet, swore off drinking and heavy eating, and in fourteen days I had lost exactly two weeks.

i feel as if i’ve done a good job doing this. its a continual thing. but as of recently..i have handled some things alot better than i would have even last semester. i’ve found the good in these situations that i know i would have reacted differently to and been negative about.

Last October the children had been playing in the neighborhood with the other children. They all seem to gather at my house because I give them snacks and drinks. I went outside to check on them and almost hand a meltdown. They were covered in blood!!!

At first I thought they had killed something and rubbed the blood on them. Then I thought someone had been hurt on the trampoline and they were afraid to tell me.

They had taken fake blood from a Halloween kit and rubbed it all over each other. My first instict was to throw a fit when I saw the mess on the clothes, trampoline, and other children. I was looking at their expressions as they were waiting to see what I was going to do. I told them all to stay right there in the yard and not to move an inch. I came back with a camera. We ended up having a bloody photosession. It was fun and cool. I think that I found the good in that situation.

This weekend I attended the Marine Corps Ball. I did not have a good time. The Marine who invited me to the ball did not treat me very respectfully or act like he had any manners whatsoever. It was a learning experience as far as the formality and procedure of the Marine Corps birthday. Had I been with the right person, it could have been and incredible experience.
