One of my life dreams, while other kids wanted to be doctors and firefighters, i wanted to be a librarian.
So its been a year and I rather hold on to a dream than give up. I have this posted in my cubicle where I look at it and ask myself every day “what are you doing about this today?
Keep on chuggin Yoy!
I got a librarianship in New York for a college in Brooklyn. I’m really excited/scared to be moving, but I can’t wait!
I have been a librarian for more than 3 years and I LOVE IT. I’m one of the rare people in this world who genuinely love what they do.
I am a librarian and, while I enjoy my job, aspiring librarians should consider themselves warned—the pay is only mediocre (at best) and the working conditions can be bad at times. Connecting people to the information they need keeps me going, but you definitely want to do more research and talk to several librarians before jumping into this career!
I got my master’s in May, and have been looking for jobs since(it’s November). I’m looking for an academic librarianship in a big city, but it’s kind of tough.
I got my master’s in April, and I’ve been applying for jobs in the DC area since January- government, academic, public, law, and corporate libraries. I’ve been temping in many of these areas since I moved here in May. Anyone have advice on the current job market for librarians, how to apply for jobs, DC? I would much appreciate it!
