watch the filming of a movie

I worked on film set last year and it all good fun, but still as boring as hell. The first day I had to make sure a light didn’t fall over for 2 hours while someone went to get some sandbags to hold it down.

granted, it was a small, independant film, but still….

Didn’t plan on watching one, but I unexpectedly saw some of the filming of the Nutty Professor 2. I was at UCLA several years ago and saw a group of people and Eddie Murphy dressed up as the Nutty Professor. I sat and watched a scene be filmed several times and it became boring after a while, so I just left.

is kinda boring, but I love peeking in on other people’s work when I run into film crews on the street.

They were filming “Gettysburg” at the Seminary which is where I worked at the time. At the end of the day I collected my daughter from day care and went to watch for a while. Tom Berringer in a Union Uniform on a horse, was a sight to behold. It was really interesting but the neat thing was, at one point, my daughter started to cry. They had to cut the scene and start over. I bought the DVD just cause we were there.

I was at the Biltmore Estates in North Carolina and they happened to be filming Hannibal in the library there that day. It was quite interesting to see a Hollywood film crew at work. (And to realize that they spend hours doing re-shoots. They must get so bored!)
