I have a son who is 16 months old, and he’s really wonderful (and from what I’ve been told, pretty easy as far as kids go). I think I do a pretty good job with this fatherhood thing…but I do worry whether or not I’m making the right decision all the time (there are soooo many). How do the decisions I make impact my son. I mean, despite all the books out there, there really isn’t an owners manual. My parents idd the best they could with me but weren’t perfect. I don’t want my imperfections to leave my son at some sort of disadvantage.

Day 1 of goal one 22 months ago

After a week of travel and an grueling flight across the Atlantic, I’m as lovesick as one can get for my two kids.

Time to show them how to suck the marrow from life.

I got home from work tonight at 7pm. I pulled off all the cushions off the couch, got out a huge blanket and played peekaboo with my daughter. We then built a fort together. She loved it!

this goal will not be determined by me 2 years ago

This will ultimately become a lifelong goal. I will not know of it’s accomplishment until He tells me so.

Graduation 2 years ago

A son is graduating on Monday and it is important to be in the hot gym for the ceremonies. On to grade 9 – hard to believe.

I do NOT want to be “that Dad”, the one who lets his kids walk all over him, and have the trouble maker type kids. I have HUGE respect for my Dad, and he earned every bit of it. I want to find and keep that fine line between father and friend with my kiddos.

I have two beautiful, wonderful, amazing sons. I hope I can be half the father to them that my father was to me.

Nothing better than being Daddy 3 years ago

sbrenner pretty much said it. Nothing like being daddy to my baby girl. She keeps my feet on the ground and my head in the clouds. I could not have asked for anything better in life. My daughter makes me proud each and every day and I can’t help but feel honored to be her dad!

I’ve got a daugher who I love more than anything in the world. Her mom divorced me a few years ago, so I’m not as crazy about her so much. But the kid, well, she’s fantastic. Luckily, she lives with me half the time. She’ll be a teenager in a few years though, so I want to make sure I’m a really good dad while she’s still my little girl.
