after spending a month in Australia I have the bug and need to travel again. I’m approaching the age where in a couple more years I won’t be able to get a work visa any more!! I want to save 200/month for a year to buy a plane ticket and get a second job in order to save more too.

perilisk kinda never sleeps... sigh.

Paid my short term debts, and now must put about 18×200 CAD$ in a bank account for my student loan to be repaid as I go, so about 3600 CAD$ or 1800 GBP. That’s the first step of my goal. With one of my other goals, I’m definitely on my way, having made around 500 GBP this week only… Let’s keep it up till Xmas !!

Well, circumstances kept me in the country, so I’m back in grad school working on my masters in History now instead.

The only thing they didn’t tell me about was how much debt I would be once I came home!

New goal – save money to pay off credit card from travelling.

Eurotrip 2008 20 months ago

After a false start this year, I am planning to travel around Europe next year. I’ve budgeted that I will need to be saving around $400 a week to be able to do this between now and then, which fortunately I will be able to do.

Let the countdown begin!

Hiya… saving to travel is tough, but you CAN do it if you are disciplined! After my experiences saving for a year and then travelling, I have written a website dedicated to the subject, including a RTW Budget Calculator and tips on increasing your income (and reducing outgoings). Hope it helps some of you! http://www.savingfortravel.com
