Have more "Mum and Daught" Days

Not technically a “mum and daught day” .....but still noteworthy.

My youngest daughter just got back from being away for the week at school camp. I thought she’d come home tired and grumpy from a full week of activities and that it would take all my patience to humour her till bedtime. Instead she came home very happy, full of chat about the things she had done and still full of life.

We spent hours just sitting and talking about her week, then when she got tired she just laid back in my arms as she did when she was a little girl, we watched tv together for awhile then when it was bedtime I snuggled her in and she fell asleep within minutes.

Sometimes you just have to love it when things don’t go as you think they will :)

Today was a glorious spring day; bright blue cloudless sky and hardly any wind, sun beating down quite early. The girls had some of their friends staying for the weekend and we decided a day out was a good idea, so headed off for some sand and surf.

We spent a couple of hours at the beach, then stopped off at a great jetty on the way back home – there was hardly anybody about so the girls indulged in a bit of jetty jumping ….........weeeeeeeeeeeee…... was great fun, just had to watch out for those nasty barnacles :)

It was the first time jetty jumping for three of the girls and it was so great to see them all laughing and having a fantastic time. We finally headed back home for a BBQ to finish off the day.

Great fun!

I think it’s important I get to spend some time alone with just my girls; to talk, to laugh, to just connect.

Today i’m taking them both out for the day. We’re going to go and do a bit of shopping, out for lunch and going to the movies to see Pride and Prejudice later in the day.

I love spending time with them by myself…...just the three of us…. they tend to open up and tell me all sorts of things they forget to tell me during our busy week.
