    Today I discovered that the book Linux Device Drivers, Third Edition published by O’Reilly is available under Gentoo Linux’s Portage. (Hoping I use the right terms here.) This was a nice surprise, because this book should tell the whole story.

    I’ve downloaded some tutorials on writing a device driver. The demos I tried doesn’t seem to work: I have expected that. It’s Linux, after all.

    Started off as a device driver for Minix, and then turned into one for Linux. It was for a school project so it was never something that got out there into the main stream becasue it already existed. Still, it was pretty cool.
