How I did it: I work part-time as an assistant in the biology lab(s) at my university. I'm still in school, and not even a natural science-major (though I do LOVE science very much...maybe this will inspire a change of majors? lol). I'm a psychology major, so this is just a gig for while I'm here in school, but it is sooo much better than any other job I've ever had (fast food and retail). I love not having to deal with angry customers, wearing whateve… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I got a degree in forensic science but decided that I wanted a more rewarding career working with people. I ended up working as an LSA in a Junior school and then training as a primary school teacher through a SCITT scheme and landed a job in a pretty "rough" area. Everyone thought I wouldn't cope because the school is supposedly so bad but I've loved almost all of it. I have kids in my class who are going through some terrible things a… Read how I did it…

How I did it: Partly by chance and partly by chasing my dream until it got exhausted and couldn't elude me any longer. I love working at J Street Tech and I am so incredibly happy that I'm finally able to get paid to act, sing and read something outloud! Read how I did it…
How I did it: The summary is a quote by Anais Nin. My passion lays in the massage therapy field. I finished my training, passed my exams, got my state certificate and ... didn't do much about it. Massage therapy is fantastic, but I was afraid of losing my steady paycheck. Everything I had heard from my teachers was about how unstable the field was, busy seasons, slow season... I still had my college loans to pay off. I couldn't deal with an unsteady st… Read how I did it…

How I did it: i had left a job i was good at but so completely miserable with, took a few months off thinking i was going to get into landscape design, saw an opportunity & went for it...looked at the qualifications & thought "i don't have a degree but i KNOW how crappy it feels to be just trying to survive & worrying bout having to pay debts too" so i decided to help people not feel so crappy about their situations....yes, it's hard howeve… Read how I did it…

Owning a business, being an artist, traveling, Art Afterschool, The Shoe Store, The Bookstore, The Game Farm, The Loft, Community Space, a B&B – all of these would qualify, but, I know there are many more possibilities. Something more independent – a gopher, a show assistant, a personal assistant.

Been in my job as the triage nurse for the Hampshire and IOW Dental Helpline for 6 months now and I love it. I’m proud to say I work for the NHS and nearly every day is great!
I found a project I’m interested in, saw a business opportunity, and went for it. So maybe my next goal should be ‘start making money’ :)
right at the moment, i want to b one of two things. a hairstylist or a engineer. and yes ive never had a job but i love hair(even tho i find it hard to style) and think a engineer wood b fun to be. wish me luck, but catch u later.
So now I work for a company teaching english through drama… comething I do enjoy, I am proud of and is fun. The downside is it’s less pay, and waaaay stressful and I do a lot of preparation work that I don’t get paid for. BUT…
I enjoy it…
I’m proud of it and…
It’s fun!
I found myself calling into my old job (at a restaurant) with the excuse that i was going to the gym. Saturday and sunday mornings something inside me would wake me up bright and early, and roll around for a minute, then realize ‘i get to go to the gym this morning!’ and i couldnt jump outta bed any faster. SO, i took it as a sign, i got a job as a personal trainer at a gym. i love love love my job. it is what i love to do, it is what i am passionate about, it is what gets me outta bed in the morning, and honestly, i have never done anything more exhausting in my life, but at the end of the day, i flop into bed with a huge smile on my face because there is nothing more rewarding to me than helping people live a better life and enjoying every second of your day while doing so, it is sheer happiness.
my advice, figure out what excites you, what puts a smile on your face, what would you do all day long if you had your choice? DO IT. do what you love and the money will follow, Marius, that is sooo true!
