stephrn ready for the next adventure
I won’t exactly say it is “done” but I am happy with it for now. I will keep adding and subtracting as the mood strikes. I’ll post pictures soon.

I have some things I want to incorporate. Now I am deciding on location and arrangement.
It’s not in the perfect place and I’d still like a mirror and a candelabra for it, but I’m happy with it, as it is :-)
Every home can benefit from a spiritual focal point. An altar can serve that purpose. My little one is inspired by Thai Buddhism.

I bought a statue on Ebay that is going to be part of my altar. I’m excited about it.

I bought some incense and a holder that I want to use. I want to find a small wooden or bamboo box to store things in.

Something draws me to altars. There are the Catholic ones that people in Latin America have in their homes. Those were the first type I was aware of, having been raised Roman Catholic. Then there are the Buddhist kind. I first saw one of those in person at a nail salon of all places. I took my daughter to have her nails done for her birthday and saw this altar. It fascinated me. I wanted to look more closely at it but did not want to appear disrespectful.
I just feel an urge to create one for myself. I sort of consider myself Catholic/Buddhist – if there is such a thing.
So my creation would be a blending of the two.
However, I am not sure where to begin with this goal. Any ideas?
This is the first addition to my altar. This is the statuette if Buddhist Goddess Quan Yin that I bought last week on eBay. I’m so pleased with her!!
Well, I’m glad I waited until getting a compass, because the place I had picked out was directionally opposed to what I was trying to accomplish. So, I chose another spot and have proceeded to add all the elements. It’s a work in progress so will continue to evolve. I’m just glad to have a space in my home where I can be still and take time to be centered.
