I’ve had my Associate’s for 3 years… Now I just need to finish my Bachelor’s!

I would LOVE to go back to school. I last attended in fall 2005… and unfortunatley, life happened, and my studies were neglected, and when the semester was over, I didn’t have the means to go back. So, I’m starting to look at some campuses to go to here in Wisconsin. My applications are started, but is it bad that I still have no idea what I want to do “when I grow up?” Hopefully, I’ll have my essays done by next week. More to come…

... It is never too late!
I met a woman about 85 years old who was just taking her last final to get her degree.. I was so inspired by her.
If she could do it then so could I! and I did too!
You can to.. Go back even if it is one class at a time… just keep on going to classes and you will get to your goal!!
I got my Forché paper back on Saturday, and I was shocked. This teacher, who had a reputation for being an exceptionally hard grader, only found one error on my paper. So, not only did I get a 99% (that error cost me a point), but he asked if he could have a copy of it to use as an example in future classes!
Yeah, okay, school is full of homework and essays and the like. I am not a unique and special flower. However, this is the first essay in my return to school after sixteen years (give or take), so it’s kind of a big deal.
This is a paper that is an analysis of The Colonel by Carolyn Forché. I’m hoping that it’ll be well-received, beacuse I really have no clue if I’m doing it correctly.
I probably won’t write an entry every week, but I attended my second class last Saturday, and it was wonderful. I’ve been quite lucky to have a professor who is passionate about what he does, and who loves to impart that passion to others.
Well, Saturday was day one of my English class. It was a really refreshing experience to get back to school and start exercising my brain again.
It’s odd just how excited I got by the review of grammar rules and parts of speech we did. Who knew nouns could be so damn exciting?
Today I registered for English 102. Having been passionate about writing and the English language for most of my life, I’m fairly certain that I have a grip on the subject matter, but it’s more about getting back into a school routine than anything.
I can look back in a few years and know that today was the day I registered for my first class in the long road to getting a degree.
Oh, and I still have no idea what I want to actually study. I’ll put that off until later.
I think I’m at a point in my life where I could benefit from a degree, although I’m not so sure what I want to study. It’s always been a sort of stock answer that I want to study computers or education, but now I’m not so sure.
I think instructional design would be fun, but I’m also starting to rediscover my love of the outdoors, and there’s always been a part of me that thinks I’d like to work out there. Of course, when the weather turns to crap, I wouldn’t want to be out there, so maybe I should stick to the indoor stuff.
