Finally took off my fake nails and so far I’ve only had one break down where I chewed. The rest are still there and this is the third day. If I can keep these for 3 weeks then I’ll call this one complete.. Keeping them for that long is going to be the hard part..

getting there. I went and got my nails done to try to stop this habit. Since they are harder than my real nails I can’t chew them off and once they grow out I’ll just take off the fake nail and leave the real ones. So far one fell off and I’ve managed not to chew it off so at least I know its working. Hopefully in a few weeks I can call this one complete.

I have been biting my nails for as long as I can remember. It’s a nasty habit and I have given it up many times, but it never sticks. I just need to stick to my goal and resist my habit.

Mum tried rubbing hot chilli’s on my fingers when i was about 4, and instead of fixing the problem, i developed a like for hot food..

Technically, I did complete this one, but now I've decided to give it up. 21 months ago

Got my nails to grow long & then practically scratched my eyes out trying to get at my contact lenses so wasn’t really worth it. I had to chew them down right there. Plus, I’d rather chew my nails than clip them. I mean, is it damaging my health? I don’t know. Is it? I might stop for that. Otherwise, I’ll just keep annoying my husband with it.

Darned Thumb 1 year ago

I’ve done well this week & I haven’t even painted them yet. Only one mishap…got my left thumb when I wasn’t paying attention because it’s way shorter than the others. And that just bugs me because now I want to chew the other thumb to match…& then I’ll want to chew all the other nails to match. I need to get them filed & painted like right now. I can’t analyze length as much with the paint…a good dark coat…yep…get off the computer now & do that…ok…

Chomp Chomp Bite 1 year ago

It’s a nervous habit. And also, if I feel a little jaggedy edge or rough spot, I try to even it out by chewing. I don’t chew them all the way down, but they never get very long. This is so sad because I have nails that other girls would probably kill for. They aren’t soft or brittle or ridgey or weird in any way. I think they are perfect. If I would just let them grow out they would be pretty.

I don’t chew on them when they’re painted, so my goal is to keep them painted 24/7. I never liked painting my nails in the past, but I’m going to try & create a nice routine for myself…maybe in the evenings while I’m watching a TV show I like or something.

I stopped... 2 years ago

By constantly chewing gum, and constantly clipping my nails and cuticles so there weren’t any little hooks for me to start chewing on.

what stopped me... 2 years ago

which was years and years ago, is thinking about the amount of germs I’m ingesting from biting my nails at random random times… it’s true, too! Imagine how much healthier you’ll potentially be if you just stop this one small habit!
Good luck!
