Should, Might, Can? 6 days ago

You know, instead of shoulda, woulda, coulda? Although, I suppose a more affirmative version would be should, will, can. Hm.
I’m vegetarian and like asian food. Sometimes that means soy sauce. Also, I just got a great recipe for chicken or veggie noodle soup and it’s WONDERFUL. It includes 5 cans of vegetarian vegetable stock – with each serving of the stock in the can including 1 gram of salt. Yum. So salty-wonderful.
I have another recipe for fried rice. It definitely includes soy sauce.
This will be hard. I want to cook food that I will like! Weak is bad! But I think maybe I should just be using different seasonings. Non-salt-laden seasonings. Sigh.

I Thought It Would Be Harder 8 months ago

I love cooking, so I just finally said OK LESS SALT and did it. I put a picture of a delicious stir fry I made with noooo added salt! No stir fry sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce etc. I love salt, too. Hot sauce, salsa, ramen, spaghetti, pizza, potato wedges, canned soups, v8, tortilla chips… MMMmm. But you know what though, I do feel better now and I used to have a problem with feeling bloaty (probably from all the salt) which I haven’t had recently. People have actually been complimenting my slim figure (even though I haven’t done anything haha) must’ve been all the salt. I feel less tired during the day, also.

I tend to eat a lot of salt a day (well, at least over the daily intake limit).
This will be a challenge for me.
I don’t really have any serious health risks, I just hope to get some improvement in my diet.

I’ll start doing this in a few years. :D I’m too young to have high blood pressure!! I hope…

AT most 6 gramms a day…to avoid high blood pressure and heart attack when youre ooold. I guess it was that oversalty chicken and olives and feta cheese that did it for me today. No more salt!!!

Salty BALLS! haha south park joke.. 1 year ago

I hate salt anyway, only on popcorn and i rarely use it so it just lost its appeal and flavor and i never had a big prob with it in the first place. if u love salt, like i love desserts… its aa challenge, u gotta discipline urself which i have none out of 100, ia ctually took a test n that was my result. i guess if i dont eat salt i have some willpower..

I found when I stopped adding extra salt to my food that it tasted a little bland. But now I’ve been doing it for about a year, if I have food with extra salt it too salty. I’ve cut out processed ready meals and only salt a little whilst cooking, so I’m way under the 6gram limit per day, yay!

    I made a chart! 2 years ago

I made a chart to keep track of this task. “Eat less salt” seems a little random, and something that probably needs to be measured before I can check it off.

    My chart consists of:
fast food no more than once per week
    One pickle per week maximum
2 litres of water per day
no salt added at the table
    minimal salt added during cooking

The above categories are a vast improvement on my current habits. I will keep track for awhile, and see how it goes. Wish me luck!

I don’t even have salt in my house. I use low-sodium Vegit Spike Seasoning and Braggs Aminos. So now when I am out and do eat something with salt, I am like “Ick!” I also check the label of all my foods before buying to make sure the sodium isn’t out of control, especially with certain vegetarians items.
