escape from a straightjacket

I’ve been looking for straight jackets. It seems they are actually an item of fetish-ware. I do not trust these to be serious jackets. I also believe they would be over-priced.

There’s no big challenge to escaping from a straight jacket. I’ve seen it done on stage and read about how to do it, but just like picking locks there is a difference between theory and practice. I doubt I will ever be put in a straightjacket, but I would like to escape from one. Call it an homage to Houdini, whom I love.

Houdini taught Buster Keaton how to escape from a straightjacket. Later, Keaton found himself in a straightjacket. The police had arrested him for public intoxication. They put him in a straightjacket until he sobered up. He got out, crawled out a window and headed for the nearest bar. The nearest bar? Next door to the police station. When the policemen picked him up a second time, they said: You sure didn’t get far! Keaton quipped: Sure got drunk, though.
