Living in the earth

I can’t say I have always wanted to live in a hobbit-like house. The idea of not having to worry about painting the outside, or even what the majority of the outside looks like is tremendously appealing to me. I also think the energy savings can make a huge difference to the world. I saw an underground home recently – all that you could see was a hill and 2 or 3 windows that extended above the hill. Imagine growing food on your roof instead of spending a gazillion dollars putting on tile, solar panels, shingles, slate or whatever.
