Get my AMA

Done the first draft of my CPD plan – didn’t take long at all, maybe I just have too much to do! And my line manager liked it, so I guess I can get it off to my mentor to have a look at. But I think I’ll leave that till next week – don’t want to look too eager!

Well, I met with my mentor so that’s all sorted – another tick in the box! Now comes the hard part, I have to write a plan of my goals etc. I don’t know how long this will take to do but it will be good to sit down and think about the things that I am doing with my job!

Arranged a meeting in 2 weeks with a potential mentor – I’m on the way!

Emailed people I would like to be my mentors this morning, so hopefully I am on the road now!

As part of my ongoing quest to make my name longer (one MA BA hons Cantab later) and be a responsible museum professional I have sent of my application for the AMA. Luckily work is paying so the crippling costs are not a worry. And this is not a degree or something, it’s all about continuing professional development that I direct myself. So now I have two subgoals – read and understand the literature they’ve sent me, and find a mentor who will help me through the next two years.
