41 pounds down. This was much easier to reach by taking it 5 pounds at a time and making it a lifestyle change, not just a fad diet.

I started my journey at 225.25, after a year of stress eating, and drinking as a result of some big family losses. I am now dedicated, motivated, and there is nothing that can stop me. In the last 14 days I have lost 12.5 pounds, and I am weighing in just over 212. I will be at 180 pounds by November. Some say its too much weight too soon, I say they are not motivated enough.
Every time I start on the weight loss journey, I do lose weight… but then gain it all back. I hope this time will be different. Going to watch what I eat tomorrow. It’s really hard doing that in summer.

Having a fitness certification it is very frustating to be 45 pounds overweight. Since my breast cancer surgery and multiple medications, It’s been quite a struggle. I am Walking in the 3-Day Komen Walk in November and hope my training gets me back on track.
ok, after a long bouth of depression i put all the weight i’d lost back on, and then some. however in the past 6 weeks i’m down about 23lb, and back to roughly 40lb to lose. if i manage to keep this up, i’ll get to my target weight by october.
Now that my husband has been diagnosed with (mild) diabetes, and knowing that I’m not far behind, I know I can’t procrastinate about this any longer.
If losing the weight will mean holding off my own sugar problems a bit longer, there’s really no question about it, is there?
So, wish me strength (of will) – I’m going to need it!
UPDATE:
Well, the second blood tests (3 months later) have come back with my sugar still elevated, so this really is the wake-up call!
I’ve been logging what I eat on Prevention Magazine’s web site (they have a great tool there called My Health Tracker), and learning where all the hidden calories, carbs and salt are in my diet! Wow! There were some big surprises THERE!
I’ve dropped 5 pounds (most of which is probably water weight, but that’s okay – good for the blood pressure, anyway). And, although I’m not keeping perfectly to my goals, I know that, by allowing myself SOME leeway, I’m more likely to stick with this, and learn to eat healthier (and in more moderation!) than I would if I tried to be very strict right off.
Wish me luck!
