Never take your health for granted. I should be in perfect health, but have had a persistent cough for an entire month now.
I got the flu shot prior to catching this, and went to the doctor’s once, who treated for a virus. That visit helped get rid of sinus infection, but last few days it feels like my throat has gotten more sore.
It’s time to go back to the doctor… nothing else is getting done while I’m stuck sick.

at least in comparison to how colds usually are for me.
I guess because I usually avoid any coughing stage, and this time I haven’t. I think my exhaustion is from the coughing (and effect on sleep) more than from the virus itself.
Oh well… patience, patience, patience…

Outside of a little more tissue use than usual and a couple of coughs when I first get up I’m okay.

Okay, yesterday was scary. I never get headaches but I woke up yesterday with the most incredible pounding, splitting headache – it was just horrible. The pain was so bad I was disoriented from it. I almost fell twice just trying to walk to the bathroom. There was also a trace of black powdery stuff coming out of my nose and throat so I was pretty scared. I eventually managed to go see my chiropractor and he mostly straightened me out – turns out 2+ weeks of coughing had given me a ton of mini-whiplashes. Told ya it was giving me muscular problems. As for the black stuff? “Huh. Weird. But I think it’s just your body kicking out a bunch of really ugly-looking toxins.”
Well today I woke up headache-free. My nose is a little goofy but rapidly improving. I’m coughing a little but that should end soon enough…at least I hope so. I’ve got sore abs from it now. Oy, this thing just hasn’t been making life easy.

Still coughing and blowing my nose a tad but on the whole I feel literally like five times better than yesterday. :)

There’s a cold going around my area that is totally asymptomatic except for unbelievable wads of yellow gak that take forever to get rid of. Literally, if you can shake it in two weeks you’re lucky; most people take considerably longer.
I saw an acupuncturist, which helped, and I’m definitely getting better…I bought a humidifier so I don’t wake up in the morning feeling like some jerk crammed bathtub caulk up my left nostril while I was asleep…I can actually still work and sleep just fine, too. The trouble is that I’m exhausted and in pain from the coughing. I’m strong and I have a huge lung capacity, which is good for hacking up gak; I seldom cough without something leaving my throat. The one problem with that is that my head and throat muscles are hurting after two weeks of hacking.
Well, I asked the guy who does scheduling at one of my jobs to not give me any more clients today than he already has so that I can just rest a little in between; I’m drinking water, avoiding dairy…I know I’m getting better, I just feel tired from the cleanup effort.

I’ll close this goal again. I’ve only needed a handful of tissues today and don’t have any other symptoms left.

I’ve pretty much gotten over the cold now, about one week later. I still need lots of tissues, but otherwise feel back to normal.

fighting less with the actual cold symptoms today than with the fact, that I was kept awake last night and only got about 3-4 hours of sleep.
Considering that I did rather well at work today and only found myself staring into space for a while once ;)
I was able to get a nap just now and slept 3 hours straight. If I manage to sleep for the night too, I might feel almost human tomorrow…

was alright. Just for the last hour I noticed I was getting tired fast and by the time I was back home I soon had to crash.
I still need lots of tissues and my sleep is not right, but all in all I think I got over the worst of it remarkably fast.
