2:30 AM seems to be the new norm. I love the quiet time to myself.

I absolutely love the late night hours and just haven’t been able to make any progress on this goal. Next week I go back to work after having the summer off. It will be a rude awakening attending 7:30 am meetings.

It is 1:35 a.m and I have been up since 4:00 a.m. yesterday. I need to be somewhere at 7:30 a.m. this morning. Why do I do this to myself?

Giving in to the clock has been a struggle all of my life. I long for the dark, silent hours when I can be one without the distractions of the day. Every year for the past 10 years I have made a new year’s resolution to go to bed before midnight. The habit has not yet been formed. In fact, it is now 2:32 a.m.
The last two weeks I had a pattern. It consisted of going to bed between 1 and 2 am, falling asleep straight away and getting up at around 7 am. TERRIBLE. I need more sleep to function. But the two days (nights) I tried to go to bed earlier I wasn’t tired and couldn’t sleep. Isn’t that GRRRRRRRRRRR?
I try to catch up on sleep on the weekends but it doesn’t really work… I’ll try to be in bed at midnight!!!

i’ve actually gotten back to a “normal” sleeping pattern. i get sleepy around 10 or 11pm now so i go to sleep around that time. although i usually don’t sleep straight through the night yet, i feel like i’m getting better quality sleep. i get up around 7 or 8am and can be productive throughout the day without feeling tired. hopefully i can stick to this new routine with classes starting in a couple of days.

on this issue since the holidays. With the stress over I no longer feel the need to stay up and worry so much. Also, now that I know I’m leaving Utah I feel much more relaxed and at peace.
