I’ve never been to Chicago but I think I am in love with the place and so many things about it, from its lakeside location to its cultural vibes. I was supposed to study in Chicago, but things happened and now I am unfortunately Not There. If I get another chance to go there I’m not passing it up.

How I did it: Planned a long weekend trip with a friend a few months in advance, and went! We found some deals on travel websites (Travelocity/Hotwire) and then after we picked our package (flight + hotel), we ran an online search for coupons for those websites and saved another $160. It wound up being very affordable. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Well, we did a road trip. So it really ended up being a long drive with a lot of so-so attractions once we got here. It wasn't really my favorite trip ever, although some of that might have been the weather.__------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Read how I did it…
How I did it: Saved up for a few months and spent my birthday weekend there. My bestfriend was going to college up there so not only did I get to spend time with her but I also got to see snow for the first time:D I'm from Miami so winters to me have always been lights on palm trees. Stayed at the Hyatt hotel and had a beautiful view of a snow covered downtown Chicago and a frozen Lake Michigan. Ate at Navy Pier, had drinks at Wrigleyville and even vis… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Since I only live six hours from Chicago, it wasn't too hard to find my way there. The first time I went was with a school trip for a few days by bus, and the second was with my family and we drove. And now I'm enrolled at DePaul, so I get to LIVE there! There are so many things to experience in Chicago - I recommend the deep-dish pizza, walking by the lake, Millennium Park, and visiting the Threadless store and Oz Park in Lincoln Park. I was in Chi-town because I was in a drum and brass corps and that was a stop for one of our shows. I want to be there for a freakin month and find every cool nook and cranny. I could ask my best friend, he’s born and raised there, about going for a trip…

My best friend just moved there so now we’re a bajillion miles away from each other. That needs to be remedied, at least temporarily.

Ashley and mines trip to Chicago was great. We ran out of time to get all the things done that we wanted to do, but that just means we’ll have to visit again soon!! We stayed at an great hotel, and visited a lot of amazing places. Also, the Tigers beat the White Sox while we were in the stands watching! It was our first trip together out of state, and it was a great experience, Thanks Chicago!

yellowdresses Finding it hard to find time to read. No good.
I’ve been told by many a good source how much I would love this city. It seems to be right up my alley…artsy, full of music, architecture, life. I want to check out the Chicago Diner, the School of the Art Institute, Art Institute, Millennium Park, etc. This will happen, hopefully in the not too distant future.

Less than a week to go before Ashley and I are on our way to Chicago!! Tickets are purchased and Hotel is locked down, just planning things to do now….
After I moved away from Chicago, it took me over a half a year to get back even though I only lived a couple hundred miles away, but I finally did it! In February and it was freezing, but still a great place. It makes me nostalgic just to think about it. I think I’m going to go again before the end of the summer, too.

My girlfriend and I are in the process of planning a trip in early August! We’re going to kick back, take it easy and just ride the train into town…we are going to catch a Sox vs. Tigers game while we’re there! Can’t wait to spend time with her in the Windy City….
