Don’t believe the, ‘oh it’s so beautiful in the summer’ - summer lasts about 6 weeks and most of that time it’s so hot and dusty you have to spend the time inside with the A/C. The number of days that can be enjoyed outdoors is limited to a few days in the year.
The idea of a ‘beautiful day’ in Oregon is a one where it isn’t freezing cold, grey (99% of the time or it just feels that way to your soul) and the wind isn’t whipping through hurling tree branches at your head. Oregonians don’t understand what a beautiful day really looks like to most people because they don’t really bother to see the rest of the world.
Oregon is mother nature’s joke. It’s brambles, thorns, algae and an incredible amount of mud. Oregon should try and export mud since the salmon and the wood seem to be unproductive these days. Even the Dungeness crab are tiny and small in number. Why is that?
I’ve come to the conclusion that Oregon is the most depressed and depressing state in the country. That’s why there are so few people inhabiting such a large area. I don’t know if the state creates depression, promotes it or simply draws it in.
At any rate, it’s a mind-numbing, life-destroying, hope-killing, bone-chilling place but, you know, that’s just MY OPINION. I wish someone had told me these things BEFORE.
